Devi Chitralekhaji

about
iconBiography of Devi Chitralekhaji

On 19th January 1997, Devi Chitralekhaji — an enlightened and divine soul — was born into a pious Brahmin family in the village Khambi, District Palwal, Haryana (India). This sacred village lies within the holy circumference of Aadi-Vrindavan, and thus, from birth, Deviji naturally absorbed the essence of Braj’s divine culture.

After her birth, many renowned saints and hermits visited her home to catch a glimpse of this extraordinary child. Mesmerized by her divine aura and supernatural signs, they foretold that “She will astonish the world as a great enlightened soul in the near future.”

At the tender age of four, Deviji was initiated into Gaudiya Vaishnavism (founded by Chaitanya Mahaprabhu) under the guidance of the revered Bengali saint Shri Shri Girdhari Baba. Deviji’s family — deeply religious across generations — nurtured her spiritual journey with devotion.

When she was just six years old, she attended a discourse by Ramesh Baba of Barsana, an esteemed saint of Braj. At the end of the program, Ramesh Baba handed her the microphone and asked her to speak. To everyone’s amazement, little Chitralekhaji spoke for nearly half an hour with such depth and clarity that the entire assembly was spellbound. Ramesh Baba himself blessed her and declared her divinely gifted. From that day, it was evident that she was destined to preach the Bhagwat Katha.

Her first formal discourse was organized in Tapovan near Vrindavan, the place where Katyayani Devi meditated for 6,000 years for Lord Krishna. Initially, her parents worried about the seven-day Shri Bhagwat Katha being too demanding for a child, but her Guruji reassured them, saying: “Radha Mata has shown me in a dream that flowers from heaven will shower upon this Katha.” The program proved divinely successful, establishing Deviji as a spiritual prodigy.

Without formal training, Deviji displayed the extraordinary ability to preach, sing devotional songs, and play the harmonium with grace and devotion. She often emphasizes that all her knowledge and skills are gifts of Shri Radhegovind’s divine blessings. Although her Guruji once suggested she did not need worldly education, Deviji humbly chose to pursue schooling, remarking: “Even Shri Krishna went to Sandipani Ashram for education; then why shouldn’t I?”

In her life’s journey, she began narrating Shrimad Bhagwat Katha from the age of seven, and with this divine pursuit, she gave it the form of Sankirtan Yatra. Since then, she has been spreading the message of Harinaam, Bhagwat Katha, and Indian spiritual heritage across India and countries like the UK, USA, and Africa.

Till now, more than 600+ Shrimad Bhagwat Kathas have been delivered and Sankirtan Yatras in over 35 countries have been accomplished.

Deeply moved by the plight of injured cows, in 2013 she established the Gau Seva Dham Hospital and Research Centre at Hodal, Haryana, where free treatment is provided to over 400 cows and 300+ other animals on a regular basis. Till date, more than 70,000 cows and other beings have been successfully treated.

Despite facing challenges and criticism, Deviji has remained unwavering in her mission. Strengthened by the support of her family and followers, she continues to dedicate her life to the service of Sanatan Dharma and the welfare of all beings.

The sole purpose of her life is to spread the eternal wave of Radhegovind’s love and the Hare Krishna Mahamantra until her last breath, fulfilling the will of her Guru and uplifting souls worldwide through the power of Bhakti and Sankirtan.
